Come down to my hometown. Every store has like 50 in-stock. No shortage whatsoever. There's honestly still a shortage in some places? That doesn't make sense. How to get a wii?
Actually, I just got a Wii on Saturday (I was lucky. I had only looked for it during the past two weeks).I don't recommend buying from eBay sellers, too expensive. (They rip you off with the shipping cost.)The key to getting a Wii, is information. Here's my advice to you:(1) Be patient. Be polite to store clerks.(2) Check online flyers regularly (in my region, new flyers come out on midnight of Thursday or Friday)(3) Visit your local retail stores often, and ASK AROUND, and if the store would be receiving a shipment, ask HOW MANY. (This is what I did; the Zellers lady gave me valuable information.)(4) Once you've obtained information about a new shipment, chances are, other retailers may have it too (Zellers, Toys R' Us or BestBuy usually get their stock around the same time). Make sure you go to other stores and ask them if they're also getting the Wiis (in case you don't get it from store X, you might be able to get it from store Y, so it's also important that you know the store hours, so you can plan your *route*).(5) If a store has more than one entrance, make sure you enter through the one that's closest to the video game department (because other shoppers would be racing into the store, and you don't want to fall behind).(6) Go to bed early the night before *the line-up*. Say, if a store opens @ 8 AM, you should be in front of the store no later than 7:30 AM.(7) Bring enough cash or a credit card.I wish you luck! 8)
There's one thing I forgot to add. That is, the fact that some retailers might lie or hide information about a new shipment. So don't trust everything they say.Check the online flyers to verify the information.
I camped out for my Wii on the day it came out, and I really enjoyed the camping experience, so I don't think it's that absurd that people camp out for things. It's sort of a communal thing that's very funThat being said, I'm amazed that people are still waiting hours in line for the Wii. I went to Best Buy yesterday to pick up my copy of Brawl and there were at least 20 people waiting for them
TArget Sunday mornings 8:00 AM. problem solved. :)
First, where do you live?
Go to http://wiitracker.comSears had them available the other night for several hours for 249.99. Or do like I'm doing and wait for the new assorted colors after E3. Who knows, maybe an even smaller wii that comes with an unobtrusive recharbable wiimote.
I simply walked into Best Buy at 12 noon on Sunday ( yesterday ) and asked if they had any Wii's in stock...they did.Last week i was in Circuit City when they opened on Sunday, and they had dozens of Wii's. Seems like Sunday is the day to get up a little early and check out your local retailers.
I've called everywhere and my Sears said they might have them Tuesday mourning or Thursday morning. Is it mourning or morning?
I've called everywhere and my Sears said they might have them Tuesday mourning or Thursday morning. Is it mourning or morning?
It's morning, unless your talking about all of the dying xbox 360's... then it's mourning.
some of the bundles are not bad either. Got mine from EB Games online, I think with everything it was around $500 US and it came with a lot of peripherals like an extra controller and three games (most of which I wanted, some of which I didn't) but at least unlike Ebay it isn't just a jacking up of the price. At least you get something for the extra money.
Everyone is telling me I can find them on the morning in stores likes sears and targetbut if the physical stores gets them, can I find them online too''? or the online ones are different?and what is online flyers exactly?and I am living in washington DC for whoever was asking

Just click the flyer link, and you will be asked to enter your location, then the flyer for your region will pop up automatically.

Wii is only available in actual stores, no online sales.
I just purchased one on Ebay, but it was a bid off. I won on a $260.00 bid and $15 shipping. Not bad, considering all stores in my area are sold out of Wiis online and in-stores. I live in Los Angeles, and I didnt want to purchase the $400+ bundles. Eek, too expensive! I would have paid $250+20 tax if I bought it at the store anyways. On Ebay, you dont have to pay tax. So what's $5 bucks to ya? I got lucky and got a great deal, especially with this system being sold out almost everywhere in my city. Someone said earlier, in his area most stores had at least 50 Nintendo Wii's in stock. Man, you're lucky. I had to stand by patiently on Ebay, looking for the cheapest shipping and lowest bid to get the deal I got. My heart was pumping so hard every second of that last minute of the auction. I was literally clicking refresh every second. I thought I had it won at $250 in the last 20 seconds, and I wasnt too sure, so I went ahead and bid $260 for safe measures and luckily, in the last 8 seconds, no one bid so I won. I was pretty excited. I cant wait to pick up Mario Galaxy, Legend of Zelda: TP, and Super Smash Bros Brawl. I'm already an owner of an Xbox 360, as you can tell by my gamertag, and I hope I made the right choice of buying a Wii. I've been such huge fan of Nintendo since I was little, and I'm looking to get back to my gaming roots. I hope I dont end up selling it in a few months like I did with the Gamecube. But then again, the Nintendo is doing so much better than systems in the past and even against giants such as Sony and Microsoft. The Wii still leads in sales, and it's quite noticeable as the Wii continues to sell out everywhere while I'm able to find a PS3 or Xbox 360 anywhere I go.
also on ebay i dont trust buying current gen hardware because of reports of many ordering and getting empty boxes, ebay could easily rip you off, priceplus it could be broken '
well, thanx for everyone and their inputill keep my eyes wide open online, and I will make wiitracker -thanx halfdead- my 24/7 websitehopefully the demand will drop for a couple of days...i never thought something could be so successful!
