How to please hardcore gamers on WII.

-Make a WII compatible with hard drives:
 • will add media to WIIs also pleasing the casual crowd by having a media center in their living room.
 • will add playable demos and DLC from wii shop channel to be used
 • more virtual console games can be downloaded, along with wiiware games
-Have one central online service. (included in Mii channel)
 • you will have a Mii as your name and one central friend code (yes becuz nintendo is stubborn)
 • have a friend and rival system like metroid prime hunters
 • ability to send friend code requests from other players (like friend requests)
 • ability to send messages and game requests to friends and rivals only.
 • No Bio, Name, or adresses.
 • Mii profile featuring trophies, stickers, stats, and games played.
 • this is ALOT safer than just posting friend codes on threads where anyone can see it.
-Stat tracking ad headset
 • yes I know Mario Cart Wii has stat tracking, but make a channel dedicated to leaderboards and stat tracking for all Wii game.
 • HEADSET: allow a headset to be used in online games, but only with friends and rivals, and certain ranked games

HARDCORE GAMES
 • Metroid Prime Hunters 2: massive multiplayer like HALO 3 with many gamesmodes, customization, and players.
 • Super Smash Bros.: take away the one gamemode and put in all of them for ''anyone'' match. Also ability to see enemies names.
 • Arcade Shooter (house of the dead, time crisis): online CO-OP
 • WII Sports 2: more sports that's online.
 • Red Steel 2: the COD4 of the WII metroid prime hunters 2 is the HALO of the Wii)
 • Rockband: using the instruments witht the wii controllers.
Games needed-RTS: think of the posiiblities using a wiimote to control and army
-Online Co-op games
-No more ports
-better sports games: come on 2k sports

Yes, I know I will get critisized, (thread failed, wii is find how it is) but I own a Wii and even with SSBB, I don't seem to play it as much as my PC, 360, and even DS (hunters baby!). I play the 360 cuz i can actually talk to my friends and for the online service and my PC is for the games. My DS for the best game ever, hunters. And my Wii well before ssbb, is just collecting dust unless friends come over. The wii is just not my ''priority'' system and probably never will until changes happen. How to please hardcore gamers on WII.
I pretty much agree with everything you said. How to please hardcore gamers on WII.
They also need an acheviement system like the 360.
1-Nintendo won't release a HDD. It will be either a HDD from a 3rd party company or a firmware that can allow any external HDD if that happens.

2-I don't care on online gaming on any console. I'll play on SSBB and Mario Kart online and that's it. I'll also play on wiiware online like Bomberman and Dr.Mario. Even if SSBB and Mario Kart are not online, I would buy them as well.

3-All you want is more shooters or clones of known shooter franchises. Resident Evil:UC has co-op and it's a rail-shooter. That's it. Also, Rockband is a casual game. If you consider party game as casual games, Rockband is a casual game. I could name you some hardcore games but you won't care since they're not shooters.

4-RTS are good on PC. I don't play that kind of game on consoles. Ports can be good if they have good controls. Last time I remember, Godfather, Trauma Center and Resident Evil 4 were very good on Wii. I'm sure Okami will be good as well.
They also need an acheviement system like the 360.
There doesn't need to be an achievement system, but a dedicated service to online is a must.
no achievement system but wiiware points gained from completed games and things like that
eww i hate achievments and i have a 360 lol, it ruins games for me honestly i feel so inadequate when i cant get those ridiculous achievements, like seriously in gears or the one where you have to beat half life with only firing one bullet..THE whole game.anyways that stuff would be pretty cool if i remember corectly i read that House o the dead is coming no?
I came into this topic expecting something ugly from the looks of the title, but I actually pretty much agree with everything you said. I think these are all very legitimate complaints and suggestions.

Great Post with strong and valid points! My question is only:
How permeable is Nintendo, and the general console makers, to core gaming oppinion? Do you suppose Reggie, and the other Marketing think tanks are willing to cave in for pleas of their fans/customers? I know there's a Headset coming on - Reggie's confirmed it somewhere - and all, but that's just ONE of the requests that are siding along the Wii growth. And Wii market keeps on growing, which does worries me a litle on the thought of seeing it become a whole new market, target gadget that keeps on derailing from their early adopters that do love to play games!Bornsleepy
Well..if Gonintendo proved that petitioning might actually work, i recommend picking a pony and riding it til Nintendo gives us what we want.My vote is for the first organized appeal to seperate-game friend codes. We can message each other just fine with our Wii's own FC, so why do we need seperate codes for every game? And you can't argue that we would just be a number, because our nickname identifies exactly who we are. Also, little tidbit...anyone else notice how Nintendo can pull online content? In SSBB, they can make ''with anyone'' disappear. Doesn't that mean that they could just as well add ''Leaderboards''? Its obvious that we want them, I wonder how long it will take them to realize how much we're going to do them ourselves anyway and start adding things to our games.
My Wii is collecting dust for the following reasons:
-No dedicated MP3 player
I would use it more if it had a quickly accessible MP3 player.-Batteries die too fast
Battery usage needs to improve on the Wiimote. I think batteries get eaten up too fast.-No USB harddrive support
I have plenty of external drives, why can't I simply plug them in and access media files off them?

-Infrequent premium titles
They are taking their sweet time coming out with 8-9 out of 10 rated games. Seems like only once every 6 months there's a game worthy of retail purchase.-Can't find free wifi
This has nothing to do with Nintendo, it's out of their control. Anyhow, I would use my Wii more if I could get free Wifi in my neighbourhood. I can't. And I don't have a PC or regular internet either. I had free Wifi for about 2 weeks in the beginning before the it got locked, lol. I wish there would be an official product to increase the Wii wifi range.
The Wii is only getting solid gaming sessions maybe once a month... when visitors come over. The only other console I own is an SNES, packed away in a box.

I used to be a gamer, but not anymore.. I have other, REAL, interests. But if the above things were fixed or improved, I would probably use the Wii more.
They need a Counter Strike game for Wii. Also bring KOTOR, and Mass Effect to the Wii. I don't care if Microsoft owns them and will sue them for $1,000,000,000 just do it anyway.

Real, huh? As opposed to the fake interest of... ah, can't think of something snappy to say.

@PatrickDuffywhy would i need a Counter-Strike for the Wii? i can just play counterstrike on my pc i i wanna play it, i mean cmon it's even running on 5 year old pcs...@topicwow, i agree with almost everything of ur post. i personally dont need more rts games for the wii (spore is coming, which is a rts game in some parts). rts games are a genre which i wanna play on the pc, i just like the oldschool controls with keyboard and mouse concerning rts games.
Not everyone has a PC and some people just don't like the KB/M combo. While I do have a PC that is capable of even playing COD4, I went with the console version my self. Some people just have an easier time playing on a console, that is all really. Though, they would have to put a low price on a game like CS, since it would just be a port.
