Snaking in Mario Kart Wii??

Did they or did they not do away with snaking in Mario Kart Wii?? In one report I thought I read that snaking was still going to be in there. Recently people in the forum have said that snaking is out. Which one is it??Snaking in Mario Kart Wii??
I'm hoping it's in.I have the newest Nintendo Power that says everything in the game but I don't want to spoil anything.Snaking in Mario Kart Wii??
I'm hoping it's in.I have the newest Nintendo Power that says everything in the game but I don't want to spoil anything.
whats snaking, i heard a lot of people dont like snaking..
I hope they don't do anything stupid and take this great technique out...

Even so, we'll find other ones....
It's out. Boosts are now earned by doing tricks in the air or holding a powerslide until it's charged.
I heard they took it out, and I'm praying that that is true.
If snaking is not removed, I will not buy this game. I am disappointed at the lack of wavedashing in Brawl tho :P
According to previews, snaking is pretty much gone. They say boosts are made by holding down a button rather than being able to constantly wiggle the control stick back and fourth to do it a million times.
With the new power-sliding method, the idea was to enable power boosts based on how long that you're able to drift, instead of just being able to make the left-right movements required to gain boosts in prior Mario Kart games. From what I've seen so far (and strangely enough, I've just finished watching a few videos), the concept of snaking has pretty much been toned down because of this. However, I have seen a few possible instances where it may be possible to power-slide on fairly straight areas, so even if snaking isn't available to a full extent, some people might be able to get power slides in situations that may not have been designed for it.My biggest problem with snaking in Mario Kart DS was that it was painfully obvious that it helped some karts much more than others because of the different hidden mini-turbo ratings. For example, Yoshi and Dry Bones' karts were pretty much the ones that benefitted the most out of snaking, whereas other karts didn't get much of a boost at all, which really took away just being able to get by with choosing a kart solely becasue you wanted to drive in it. Instead, you'll see a large number of the people only playing with only a select number of karts because they know that they will get more out of power-sliding, and even worse, snaking. Even though it's not hidden now, that element pretty much still exists with MKWii, which may bring along a few potential balance issues.Perhaps I've put too much thought into this from a competitive standpoint, which is not what the Mario Kart series should be about, IMO... or at least this intensely. I'm looking forward to this game a lot, regardless of what exploits some people will try to come up with.
