Playing SuperSmash Brawl (english ver.) ...
hey everyone, first posti have a japanese wii that my father from china sent me. it seems to be modded and such.today i picked up a copy of SS Brawl and was disappointed that the disc could not be read.i've done some research on regional problems, but if my Wii was modded would it make a difference?i'm trying to get into ''Wii Settings'' to configure my Wii, but everytime i try, it gives me a white screen saying its not able to access the address marc:JP/JP/JPN/index01.html'' for opera and it gives me two options that are unclickable-open the Opera Help.-go to Opera's on-line support desk.i know some reactions to this is to simply buy an U.S. Wii, but just wondering if any of you can save me from that hassle.i appreciate for anyone reading and helping out.Playing SuperSmash Brawl (english ver.) ...
nope can't help. my friend is japanese and has a japanese wii. Let him borrow zelda and he couldn't play it. Nothing could be done.Playing SuperSmash Brawl (english ver.) ...
Just buy the wii freeloader, that should fix your problem.

Gamestop, where I waited outside with a bunch of other people, then when they were preparing the tournament they made us wait outside in the cold until we were called in (thank god there was an Acme that was like, a 10-second walk over from the Gamestop, though!).Where did you get your copy?
We have a copy machine in the back office, however, there was no need to use it last night at all, and so far no one has asked for any copies. On a side note, please keep it in the sticky.
I was going to make a copier joke, but Cesar_Barba beat me to it.Assuming this is about SSBB and not inquiring about copy machines, please keep it to the sticky thread.

Gamecube controller + Wii = ?
I bought a Gamecube controller with Brawl, and I don't exactly know where i'm supposed to put the controller port. It doesn't go into the Wii Remote's slot, and I can't spot the place on the back of the Wii to place it. Can anyone help me out here?Gamecube controller + Wii = ?
Open the latches on the top of your Wii. There'll be four slots, each for a GC controller.Gamecube controller + Wii = ?
There you go, put it on the one with 1 dot for player one. You should have bought an extension if you sit too far away from the Wii, you probably only have about 6 feet of clearance.![]()
Yeah, I found it. Thanks.
Yea what the others said but just be careful not to pull the GC controller hard or your WII could fall.
R u like retarded who cant find da gamecube slot
Okay, that isn't really necessary man. Don't flame someone just because he couldn't find a port. That's just being a noob.
yeah i had the same problem earlier this week when i bought a game cube pad, eventually gave in and read the instructions was going to take the pad back. might of well as done as the vc games i downloaded dont suit the pad at all seeing as the buttons are different locations on the pad on game cube. so you might need to get a classic controller. much better for the games i was going to use it on and i can use it wireless by plugging it into the remote

Much help needed
I cannot connect to the internet on my Wii. I am using a Netgear DG834PN. It can find the connection but can't actually connect. I get error code 51300. My 360, PS3 and all my computers work fine. My DS (which I assume uses the same service as the Wii) also works so why will my Wii not connect. Much help needed. Thank you.Much help needed
try and move the wii closer to the router and make sure there is no interferance from another elctronic device. and geez u must be loaded to have ps3, 360, wii and dsMuch help needed
Maybe the type of connection that your wireless internet is, does not work for the Wii. I had a problem like that. I put the internet configuration to type WPA, in both my wireless internet and Wii, and it finally worked.

Smash Service??
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/wi-fi/wi-fi05.htmlI was really looking forward to this option, receiving a new custom stage every day, yet I can't seem to find it in my wi-fi menu. All that is present when I select ''wi-fi'' is the two different vs. options. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Smash Service??
try the options menu, btw use the sticky next time.Smash Service??
you have to make your own stage than send it in, than you will get a new one. like the previous user said, please use the smash boards

Does Brawl actually run in 480p?
I have a bunch of wii games and even SMG doesnt look very good on my Bravia. I was wondering if Brawl actually runs in HD so it will look better than all of my other games. All of my other game look all pixely and blurry and YES I have the right cables. thxDoes Brawl actually run in 480p?
haha 480p isn't hdDoes Brawl actually run in 480p?
Yes it does. If you go on IGN they have a FAQ on it, and it said it can run on 480p and 16:9 widescreen.Link :D
i would know if hadnt ignored the sticky.
haha 480p isn't hd
480 is enhanced and its basically the same thing which runs on an hd tv, if you want to be nitpicky then i guess it technically isnt but i still wanna know if it looks good in 480p on an hdtv

PSO / PSU for Wii poll
Just as the subject says :) And also what would you like to see improved/added.For me it's the following:1. Improved animation of NPCs and monsters2. Improved monster AI3. Use Wii as a PRIMARY development platform, squeezing the maximum out of the platform, and THEN port it to XBox 360 and PS3The latter goes pretty much for every 3rd party game developer, actually :PPSO / PSU for Wii poll
No one has any suggestions?PSO / PSU for Wii poll

i hope I'm not to much trouble but can you tell me how to make polls when i make new messages.thanks.

What's PSO/PSU?
PSO/PSU = Phantasy Star Online/Phantasy Star UniverseI think the Wii would benefit from both of those games.
It would be nice, but this is one of the many reasons why I have a PC.
(Besides, how would the controls be especially suited to the Wii? The Wiimote doesn't exactly have a lot of buttons, and I couldn't imagine playing PSO: Blue Burst without the number row hotkeys in some instances.)
It would be nice, but this is one of the many reasons why I have a PC. (Besides, how would the controls be especially suited to the Wii? You can very easily cycle through ''pages'' containing sets of 3-4 actions/techs... A keyboard attachment would make this even easier, IMHO :)
It would be great but the friend code system would hinder the gameplay way too much.
It would be cool if you could plug in a keyboard and play it. Also they should use no friend codes.
It would be great but the friend code system would hinder the gameplay way too much.
Friend Codes are not mandatory for developers - they can make games that do not use them :)

Mario + Sonic at The Olympic Games
Is Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games a good game overall? I've read too many mixed reviews and am not sure whether or not to get it. Thanks.Mario + Sonic at The Olympic Games
bump anyone??Mario + Sonic at The Olympic Games
The idea may seem neat but overall its not a fun game.. plus if you're looking for a party game there are so many better opttions on the Wii.. but either way party game of not I'll honestly give it around a 5.0 personally.
I have it, i buy it for multiplayer, and it's great for that, i don't think that the controls are broken, the game IS fun,a lot, and really competetive.
This doesn't help, you'll need to try it, so you can get your own opinion
well, i can get it for only $25, so i was just wondering

A loud noise? Mine only has done that once and thats when it locked up on GH3. Its probably not good, call Nintendo.
Mine's been totally quiet, so I would agree with my peers about contacting Nintendo.
It makes a noise some times, but if yours is too loud, then it might be a problem with it, so better call Nintendo.
Hey, mine does that too.
I wouldnt call Nintendo. mine makes a click and a faint beep when I start it up and then in game when its loading mainly in NMH its makes some clicks but nothing worth losing your save files over.
I think I know what you're talking about its probably like a screeching or turning of the disc noise you hear while u wait for the loading time? You guys will probably notice while waiting and playing Brawl hehe.. anyway yeah I could hear it on my friend's Wii and I've seen some Brawl videos online where their Wii has made a similar noise so I assume its normal and other people just don't notice it or theres a faulty batch of Wiis out there.
yup. if there no disc in the system when u turn it on then ti spins the recieving motor just to make sure. if u put a disc in or eject it then those motors also fire. theres alsoa couple of clicking noises as the wii gets the read head in position and then theres the noise from the disc drive itself when its going at full speed....all normal.as long as the game is behaving properly and the disc come in and out normally then ure wii si fine. wii is not a silent system.

mario kizart wii... last 8 tracks
does anyone know if there is going to be yet another crappy rainbow road as the last track? i hope not because it is without a doubt the worst most boring track in every mario kart. mario kizart wii... last 8 tracks
if you look at ign's latest coverage of it you will see that they talk about 'wario's gold mine' track as a ''darker alternative to the rainbow road.' i hope it means no rainbow road and they will actually put some thought in a mean last track.mario kizart wii... last 8 tracks
rainbow road can't be taken out! it's a tradition!
plus they could make rainbow road better, last one was awful! no attempt at visual interest at all
classic or not it is taking up the spot of a potentially really good last track. it may be a tradition but it is never any fun. just a pain. if you choose a track to race on with a friend, is it ever rainbow road? didnt think so.

Rainbow Road on Mario Kart 64 wasn't hard... Just long.
Rainbow road on the SNES was the best, I can remeber playing on 150cc and loosing the cup time after time on this track.I eventually made it in 1st place and it was one of the best feelings I've playing video games.CheersGareth
I thought Rainbow Road on the SNES was the best but the others have been poor. It is supposed to be a very testing track the N64 curcuit was the worst in my opinon.

Helpful Wii Accessories
I'm open to buy some helpful Wii accessories. Anyone mind dropping a few items down for me? I'm talking about things such as a item to help it from over heating. I heard that Xbox has something like thisso I was wondering if Wii had one also. The only thing so far on my list is a rechargable battery thing. it's just $10 but I think it'll pay for itself in the long run. ThanksHelpful Wii Accessories

Rechargable batteries are a great idea. I've saved TONS of money using the recharging ones. No idea about a system cooler but I don't think you need one.

Rechargeable batteries are good, charge stations are inferior and regular batteries? Well you're just crazy if you use them lol. Just make sure they're 2500 or higher2gig SD card to back up game saves at the very least and movies, pics, and music if you wantNo cooler, they're useless and do not help anything. The stories you hear about the Wii overheating is from a heatsink not placed correctly on the board. No matter how much air you have going through there you can't prevent it.
No man, the Gamecube controller is a must if you're gonna play Super Smash Bros. And some other Wii games utilize it too. You don't need to use the next-gen stuff just because its next-gen, that doesn't always mean it's the better control scheme. If you have a High-def TV, component cables are a must, because even though the Wii doesn't support High-def, it does support 480p (60 frames per second), which is a lot better than 480i (30 frames per second).
Yeah, some Wiis have a defective heatsink (they weren't placed properly), so they overheat and the graphics start glitching. But only a few of them have bad heatsink, probably like 5% or less.
component cables are good too

Greatest game of all time.
The case sure looked interesting. And so did the disc. Sadly, I won't be able to give a real analysis until Nintendo returns it to me in a week.
Game is great. The online is cool, you get into a match pretty fast and just go at it. This game is gonna be played for a long time by everyone who picks it up.
easily best multiplayer Wii game yet. AS expected.
You know, it would be better asking that in the Sticky ;)

Mine for now is Zelda TP, but I'm not done with RE4 yet and I think that will pass it. I'm getting Brawl later today, so it could be great as well.

Other than the obvious Galaxy and Metroid, I'd say Zack and Wiki. The sales don't do that game justice!

Hellow...The timeline of zelda has being argued until almost fans are breathless... I have watch the clip that is one youtube, that from my point of view makes a lot of sense..But when that was made Zelda TP and Zelda PH were yet to be release...Zelda PH, can still stay where they put it...But what about TP?? I have try to make a space for that one.. no luck.. my head is starting to hurt..So to the fans... Where would you put Zelda TP in the timeline???BTW: here is the part 2 of the clip I have mention (in case you want to refresh your memory... :PSo... Thoughts??:)A topic that has being argued so many ti ...
My opinion is that it doesn't matter what the time line is. You can play each game and still get the basic idea of what is going on so an overall storyline isn't essential. The developers of the games just make the story up as they go so who knows if they themselves know.A topic that has being argued so many ti ...
i have actually never thought of that..
Honestly, I stopped trying to figure out the Zelda timeline. All I know is that everyone is supposed to be reincarnations. It would be cool if in the next Zelda game they finally came out and told the official, complete, canon storyline.
Zelda: TP would fit in the hyrule B part. Ganon is destroyed and trying to gain full power via the Triforce of Power. Ganon Uses Zant to use twilight powers to bring him back till full power. ONce Zant finished with that Ganon returns to take control over hyrule via the Triforce of power. Farm Link defeats Ganon once again but its unclear what happens to him, although Zant is the one who gives the final blow, and maybe traps him in Twilight and when WW and PH takes place No hero was ever chosen to defeat Ganon and thus begins the story of Hyrule B. At least that is what i believe to be true, or maybe they they just screw with our head and made serval diffrent worlds of hyrule and none of them fit with each other except for true sequils like Mahors and PH and Zelda II
Ok now... to explain some things:The Legend of Zelda refers to an old Japanese tale or something. Including hero, princess and evil sorcerer. As every ''Legend of Zelda'' follows the same pattern it is obvious that there is NO timeline or whatsoever at all. Each game of the series is a stand alone story but in a different setting. And to be honest, I don't want a story- / timeline either.
Wow at first that was confusing but for sure Tw would be in B becuase that is adult like the adult orcain of time
TP takes place 300 years after OoT. The fact that both characters are adults is meaningless, they're entirely different people.
Well i know i said something be fore but here is what wikipedia has to say about this. While if i beleive it or not is beyond me.Chronology The precise chronology of the Zelda universe is hotly debated among fans, although some fans do not feel the games are definitively connected. As the series progressed, and more games were released, the exact order of the games in an overall timeline became complex and heavily disputed. In the instruction booklet for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past it is revealed that this particular Link is an ancestor of the Link from the original NES games. Also the Nintendo 64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time does the same thing in relation to the SNES Link. Also, In The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker it mentions that the flooded Hyrule is a result of ''the hero'' going on an adventure in another kingdom, possibly alluding to the child Link from Ocarina of Time's adventure in Termina in Majora's Mask. It is not known how much time has passed in Hyrule between each of these games. In an interview conducted by Nintendo Dream with Eiji Aonuma in December 2006, he mentioned that there exists two different Zelda universes. The split in the timeline occurs during Ocarina of Time, when, at the end of the game, Link is sent back in time by Princess Zelda. Once returned to his original time, Link goes to see her again, and the result of this meeting is an alternate future in which the villain Ganondorf is arrested and tried by the ancient sages, which causes him to be banished to the Twilight Realm; Twilight Princess then occurs over one hundred years after the Ocarina of Time child Link's era. Meanwhile, The Wind Waker occurs in the ''adult Link'' timeline, hundreds of years after the adventure of the adult-Link in the future of Ocarina of Time and is directly followed by Phantom Hourglass.[2][3]
The way I see it, Twilight Princess Link is the same Link as the Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask one, just older. It would make sense.

A funny thing happened at the store toda ...
So I go to Wal-Mart to pick up Brawl (obviously) when I stumbled on some of that Wii shovelware everyone was talking about. There was this so-called deal... a copy of Counter Force and Monster Trux Arenas for $30. I looked at it for a minute, laughed to myself and walked away.So it is out there... right alongside the good titles. This is the first time I encountered the worst of the worst Wii shovelware... I mean there are those games based on Disney movies and Nickolodeon cartoons, but this is the first time I've seen any of those infamous DDI games.I just thought I'd share that.A funny thing happened at the store toda ...

Shes still pretty easy to handle like how she was in melee compared to the rest.. tho yeah shes not as good..
I first used Ike love slow characters.. but I've fell in love with Wario and I know many people have too hes just too great.
The one and only: Mario!BTW, did anyone else think Wario is just horrible? The feel of his controls feel under developed or something.
Good old Link, then I unlocked Snake. and wow I knew he was going to be main one to use and he is amazing takes some getting used too but then wow
First was Pit.
Hoping to get it when I go to the mall in 30min. First will be Pit.I was decided on using Pit first when I found out he was in the game :P .
Peach, of course.

The game data saves to the Wii's internal storage. You can save replays to an SD card if you choose, but it is not a necessity.
i see. so the internal memory is enough. thanks.makeup show

can't play brawl online
my wii is connected to the internet wirelessly. But i can't seem to find anyone to play with online. I know there is a friend code exchange but how to i get the online mode to work? I just see the ''seeking'' message in the player slots.can't play brawl online
Same thing keeps on happening to me. I don't know what to do, but spectator mode works just fine.can't play brawl online
yeah i can spectate too. I just want to be able to play online without entering friend codes. It can get tedious manually entering those codes.
It's probably because it is only day 1, not many people may have it, or the servers may be having trouble. Liek what happened with Strikers Charged.
And please use the sticky next time ;)

You can catch people sometimes, I've had about five brawl anyone matches since thursday.Add friend codes, it doesn't take that long.

Any new Wii owners today because of Braw ...
I am not a new owner, just a returning one. I was curious about Brawl so i went to Best Buy at noon to check out the crowds. I was looking at the rack and asked the sales guy if they had any Wii's, and they said YES. So, i bought another Wii just for the heck of it, giving it another try. Im keeping my expectations of this system in check. Just curious if anyone here managed to score a Wii as easily as me today.Any new Wii owners today because of Braw ...

i brought my wii over so we had 2 wiis here and we picked up brawl at midnight. we spent about 8hrs straight playing thro subscpace emisary and then at the end tried transfering the data over to an SD then onto mine since we both did it. it said we canot copy this file. Some data files cannot be copied. I remember F-Zero GX for the gamecube did this. You either have to start all over again, or play on that file.
They announced on one of the websites in the review that you couldn't transfer data. So yeah, guess sharing is out of the question.

I know there is a sticky about Brawl but I doubt anyone will help me in the sticky so...yea...does anyone know what's going on with Brawl's online?Seriously, what's up with Brawl online?

I don't have Brawl so this is just a wild guess: Try putting your Wii in your router's DMZ. Uh, that sounds nasty, doesn't it? :)If this solves the problem, to make the solution permanent you need to assign a fixed IP address to your Wii (one which isn't in the range assigned by your router's DHCP server) and configure that IP address to be the DMZ.
I know its launch day, but do you not think Nintendo should have planned for the ammount of traffic they'd be getting today?
Error Code: 85010 Our experience shows that error messages within this range are typically caused by temporary network issues with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If there is a problem with the network, our technician's will work to get the service back up as soon as possible. Please retry your connection later. If you are connecting to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for the first time, or the problem has not resolved itself after a few hours, please review the following:

If you are connecting to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for the first time, or the problem has not resolved itself after a few hours, please review the following:
- Ours servers may be trying to handle an unusually high amount of traffic (especially if you are trying to play online with a recently-released or popular game, or if there is a new Wii system update). Please wait a few hours and try the connection again later.
- How are you connecting online? The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is only compatible with Cable, DSL, and Fiber-optic internet connections. If you are connecting via Satellite, EV-DO (cellular), Dial-up, or other types of connections, then you should try to use an alternate type of connection. Contact your Internet Service Provider if you are not sure what type of internet connection you have.
- The error may be caused by a basic setting on the router that needs to be adjusted (such as the channel). Please review our general router troubleshooting.

Any one else feeling disapointed?
I was cautiously optimistic about Brawl, and after playing for a while, i feel quite let down.anyone else?Any one else feeling disapointed?
I'm loving it. I don't know how you can feel let down if you liked the last 2 games.Any one else feeling disapointed?
It's pretty much the exact same game, with way more content, I'm not really sure how you can be let down.
I love it, but thats just me
yes, its almost exactly the same glitch ridden childrens game like the last two. Which i played to death. but i'm just tired of the half 4553d SSB games that people make like they're the second coming of Jesus.
i am loving the game so far everyhting is just so fun it is a good game
i am more than pleased i didnt think it was going to be this good
why is it so good? its full of glitches and the difficulty is a joke.
why is it so good? its full of glitches and the difficulty is a joke.
What glitches?
I bought the game and found out I suck at it. Well I already sucked at melee I don't know why I wouldn't suck at brawl. But since I actually have to game I get to practice as much as I want. I'm just trying to unlock all the characters and Stages right now.
the online play has let me down in terms of waiting for random matches, but then again its launch day, and not everyone who wants it gets it. ill give it at least a month to have my final decision on the online. other than that, the game has really been a blast. the few online matches i did have were generally great and exciting,
I am definately not disappointed.Perhaps you should find your way back to the PS3 and Sony Union boards.
I'll get the game around Easter next week and I'll wait to play online in April. The games is looking good.

Trying to justify buying brawl
I was at target today, and they didn't have brawl. If they did, I might have bought it, but I'm not sure. Something is seriously wrong with me if I'm a big video game fan, and don't even know if I want to buy this. I watched some videos of it online, and it looks like a lot of senseless, ''beat the heck out of your opponent and knock him of the stage.'' Not saying it isn't great, just trying to figure out why I'm not as excited as everyone else is. Also, I almost always play alone. A lot of people love super smash brothers for it's multi-player, how good is it in single player?Trying to justify buying brawl

**POLL** Will you buy ROCK BAND without ...
I surely wont, I dont even know half the songs on the main list.
If they added som ACDC, INXS and ZZ Top to the DLC id sure get it. Just question is how long till it gets to Aus, and then when will it come to Wii?! :(
Nothings confirmed yet so we dont even know if the Wii version will have DLC...
Something that annoys me is by the time it get here on the Xbox, and THEN gets here on the Wii, theyd be making a new RB by then..?! :(
Post some songs youd like to see on the DLC too if you like :)
I would buy the standalone game if they made it available. I HATE HATE HATE the drums in RB. The persistant tip tap of the pads sucks you out of the experience. IMO. Having no DLC just saves money.**POLL** Will you buy ROCK BAND without ...
No MetallicA = no Rock Band for me.
Nope.
Theres some Metallica songs on the DLC section.
I mean whats RB without classics like ACDC and Aerosmith anyway? Rage Against The Machine DLC is a must seriously, Sleep Now In The Fire would be awesome to play :D Id love to have Killin In The Name Of but theres lots of swearing lol :(
The bigger issue we need to know first is...Are we getting the full 360/PS3 experience or the dumbed down PS2 experience?
The thing I like about rock band is the whole co-op play with each person being able to play a different thing. Plus I've always wanted to play drums since I was a kid, but never persued it, so this kinda half-ass fills that fantasy, lol. I go to my friend's house once a week to play drums on his RB for PS3 and it's great fun. I'm very much looking forward to having it for the Wii, even if there is no DLC. What Jazunn brings up is a good point, though... are we getting a PS2 port that is dumbed down compared to the rest? I'm not even familiar with the differneces, actually. Guess I'll go look it up.
really depends on if I can afford it or not
The PlayStation 2 version of Rock Band contains a much more stripped-down version of the Band World Tour mode, as 2-4 local players will only be able to play by completing predetermined tiers of songs ordered by difficulty. Players cannot create their own characters, nor can they choose a city, venue, or a setlist to play

We have the PS3 version at my band's practice space and I know how amazing the game is and how great those tunes are. If the Wii version doesn't have access to the ''real'' MetallicA songs then like I said: ''No Rock Band for me.''
I wouldn't get it anyways
I will not buy it if there is no dlc.
I have alot of Rock Band experience (playing on my friends PS2), and I love the game. But, just like Guitar Hero III, this game would get old FAST, and not be worth half as much without dlc.
I already made the mistake of getting the wii version of gh III, I wouldn't make the same mistake with an even more expensive game like Rock Band.
DLC is essential in order for me to justify spending $170. It keeps things fresh and interesting, and allows you to cater more to your specific tastes.

Well it's official Nintendo released bra ...
The online doesnt work at all. It's still the best game i've ever played but I can't help being a little upset. I played 2 really LAGGY games last night and today it hasn't worked at all. And why on earth is 2 minutes the default for time limit it should've at least been 3 stocks. Who plays with time??? Why can you choose items, stages, and any character you want but not adjust the time/stocks. This leads me to believe the online is broken and not ready in additon to the fact you can't even play match. Cmon ninty...it's launch day.Well it's official Nintendo released bra ...
I wouldnt doubt it. Nintendo is quite possibly one of the worst companies for giving what the consumer wants. I mean they kinda have their own little plan and to them I am not sure if they care if it works or not. Well they might care, but they still dont do anything about it.Well it's official Nintendo released bra ...
You answered your own question...it's launch day. There are probably so many people trying to get on the severs, they underestimated how many would be doing it and bam, servers down.
Yeah and the fact that I have not been able to connect to a single game online yet either! After trying 4 different times I threw in the towel and called er quits.
Its launch day you guys...you realize that right -.-. Learn to freaking wait.
You know it's the launch day of the game. Nintendo is testing the Wi-Fi connection right now. When they'll find something bad, they'll correct it. You should wait to play online. Unlock everything first. I'm waiting to play online in April.

No One On Brawl Online?
Ok i have made many games online and no one joins them? No one plays this game online why is this?No One On Brawl Online?
i asked myself the same question i spent like 10 minutes trying to find someone online and no one would join. i think the friend code thing will work for now. until more people get the game and starting seeking random fighters.i was looking forward to online fights but still no one to battle. No One On Brawl Online?
It's just Nintendo WFC, everybody's tryin to get on, but their servers are to busy to handle all the correst correctly, it should get better :-)
The Friends codes do work but not just online play! that sucks! i love online play but no one plays it :(Well Here is my code 4596 9117 7963 Msg me when you add me! Thank You
I think you just need to give people a chance to play before they go online. Plus with the friend codes, more people are playing the people they know and not strangers. Give it some time and the online part will start jumping. Good luck.

Anyone notice? L Canceling and Wave Das ...
I could understand Wave Dashing... It seems more of a glitch than a feature... But L Canceling??? Why would they remove that ?!I'm a little disappointed in Brawl.. mainly because they removed so many things that separated the men from the boys.
I am dissapointed in my Smash Brothers
..because my disc will not play. I get a disc error. The Wii tells me to check my Wii manual for trouble shooting and the manual tells you nothing really. Any ideas or do I have to drive my sorry self back to Walmart? I have to watch a baseketball game (Go UNCW beat Mason) and i think the electronics department might be closed when the game ends. I do not want to stare at a new game I can't play all night.I am dissapointed in my Smash Brothers

brawl websites??
Dotn get me wrong i love gamespot but does anyone know of any sites specifically for brawl that will hold tournaments etc.
which controller scheme is the best?
ive been wondering about it and im playing the game tonight so...which one?which controller scheme is the best?
im just using the gamecube one right now but i tried the nunchuck and remote and thats alright, im gonna try the remote sideways afterwhich controller scheme is the best?
The remote sideways is pretty good to me. The gamecube controller feels a little slower in comparison. Anyone else get that feeling? and how is the Classic controller, I don't have one so just wondering.
wiimote side ways is great thats how i play

Question about SSBB, and the wii disc fo ...
well first off i have a question about the disc format of the wii, from my knowledge the wii discs are just DVD's, so 4.7GBs or 9.4 Dual Layer right? Well lol this guy at gamecrazy said i need to buy a warrenty for my copy as its quad layer, and ya does that even exist? I told him no, and he mocked me, lol i was right tho ? There is no quad layer dvd, atleast for the wii Question about SSBB, and the wii disc fo ...

Yes it is. Brawl is on Dual-Layer, because of its big ammount of content. Don't believe me? Google it! :P

well no, he called me a dumb*** and said its quad and i was like ya quad is umm ya not real, then he tells me quad is for a better disc, like speed and less scratches, lol no that would be for space if it existed
thanks for the info tho :)

I'm actually cautious (sp?) about Mario Kart. From what I've seen it just doesnt seem as high quality as the rest of the titles. Rock Band I'll be getting for Wii or 360 whenever they make a bundle with just the drums.

VC SNES Emulation Question
Look at these pictures from DK Country 1 and 2. DKC is running on my SNES hooked into standard composite inputs. DKC2 is running off of my Wii's virtual console which is hooked into component inputs on the same TV. Why are the gradients between colors so much worse on the Wii than on the SNES? Do component cables make that big a difference in sharpness that they bring out the worst in old games?
Notice how the ground and the characters, in particular, look natural and the gradients are smooth. Here's a closer view of the snakes:
Notice the smooth transitions on the snakes? Now here is what DKC2 looks like on the Wii's VC:
Notice the gradients on the boards of the crate below Dixie Kong. You can really tell the seperation of color on the VC, where-as on the SNES, they are smoothly transitioned. As a test, I might try to hook up my Wii with the composite cables that came with it and see if the problem persists. Are there any filtering modes that you can change? I know I'm asking too much probably, but I guess I'm just kind of annoyed that my old SNES looks better than the Wii's emulation of old games. It doesn't ruin the game experience, but I'd like for it to look a little better than it does. Any comments or thoughts? Every video I've seen on the 'net looks like the old SNES pictures. What gives? Does nobody use the composite cables, if indeed, that is the culprit? Thanks in advance! VC SNES Emulation Question

Yeah, I've come to the same conclusion. Oh well, no biggie, I was just curious and thought that perhaps their SNES emulation was borked. Ah well, I guess I can always turn down the sharpness on my TV to reproduce the blur of old. :D
Looks to me like the bottom pic is just too close.
I did that to show the difference in gradients between the SNES and Wii, that's all. If I show a fullscreen shot with my digital camera, the camera smooths it out and makes it look like the SNES, so it was hard to show the difference without zooming in.

wii froze question
my wii frozen for the first time when i played wii sport. so have your wii frozen before. wii froze question
Yes, mine is less than a month old and it has frozen about three times. Each time it happened it was while returning from a game to the main menu. To force it off I pressed and held the power button until the power light turned red. Then I turned it back on and it worked fine.wii froze question
me too, during brawl today for the first time since release day
mine's frozen maybe times in the 1.4 years time i've had it, mainly due to issues with transitions to the shop channel. it's also ceased function completely before, but that was result of a power outage-perhaps a safety mechanism
My Wii froze twice when I was playing Wii Sports, but only during the first couple of months. I took it in for repairs for a completely unrelated problem (Heatsink overheated), and while they fixed THAT problem, they may have fixing the freezing problem too; maybe the heatsink was causing the freezing...I don't know. All I know for sure is that I've never had a freezing problem again!
Mine hasn't frozen while playing a game. But it froze a lot with the Wii Browser demo thing.
Mine has never frozen. Afterall, I did only get it today.Besides, people say it's frozen but when the system only is loading.skin care

WIii HELP!
What kind of cord can you use to have a wired connection to get on the internet with the wii?WIii HELP!
I believe you have to have a broadband adapter to connect to the Internet if you don't have a wireless connection. Then just use your standard ethernet cable.WIii HELP!
yea but there isnt a pluge on the wii where you can put an ethernet cord
You have to buy an adapter if you can't hook it up wirelessly. Sorta sucks, but the Wii doesn't let you just hook it up to your modem.EDIT: The official name for it is the Wii LAN Adapter, and you can find it for around $25-$30 online. Just plug it in to one of the two USB ports on the back of your Wii and then plug in your ethernet cable to that.

I play on an LCD Monitor. It just has the component connectors on it so I connect the Wii to it normally like you would a TV lol

A Pokemon game that plays like....
.....the Brawl machanic. (semi SPOILER Alert) If you own Brawl and played the pokemon event where two pokemon trainers go at each other. How do you feel if the next pokemon game played like that. All in real time and not turn based. The four moves are mapped to the joystiq and there are till dodge/evade/block maneuvers still avalible. Brawl really seems like a real time pokemon game can happen (can be made) it can be more intensive and more stratgy involved. What do you think?A Pokemon game that plays like....
Awful ideaThe idea is that you give commands to the animals, not control them yourself.A Pokemon game that plays like....
But controlling the pokemon yourself will help you be in the battle, maybe feel more intense than just on the side line giving command. I see what you mean but if we were able to control them ourselves, it can lead to a real time pokemon battle style

Importing
You could say I'm unlucky. I'm British, and will have to wait until August-ish for Brawl. With only Wii Fit and Mario Kart to keep me going. So I'd like to know some stuff about the US Wii- As I'm thinking of putting myself out of this missery and Importing one. How much are they? (In ?GBP Prefrably) And how much would Brawl be?I hope someone can help me. I'm stuck playing Melee at the momentImporting
I'm importing too, I use Ebay, go over there and check some prices, some are selling for prices like 42 dollars...and ship world wide....Importing
A Wii sells here for about 124 pounds, expect another 20 pound markup for being ''import'' and then games run about 25 pounds.I'd just wait, it's not like it's that far away and for one game you're really not missing much
We're trying to keep SSBB talk confined to the stickes, so please post your question in the guide thread. :)

I Need Another Wiimote, Is Wii Play Wort ...
So I've been reading reviews for Wii Play packaged with a Wiimote, and so far it seems like it's a mediocre game. But with just $10 bucks more, I get a Wiimote with it. So do you think that's worth it? Or should I just save that $10 bucks and spend it towrads getting the nunchuck too? I Need Another Wiimote, Is Wii Play Wort ...
I think everyone bought Wii Play for the second or third wiimote.Wii Play is a mediocre collection of games (well theres plenty of other better choices nowadays) with Mii support but it's sure worth it if you think of it not as a game but as a little extra you get from getting a new wiimote.I Need Another Wiimote, Is Wii Play Wort ...
It's not the greatest set of mini-games, but it's surely a steal at $10.
Agreed, Wii Play is far from ground breaking stuff but its a bit of fun for a bit, plus at how little extra you have to pay for it its definitly worth it
yeah seriously it's not the best minigame selection by a long shot, but it is definitely worth $10it's also convenient since it comes with a controller
go buy it. the tank mini-game is worth every penny when you are playing it with a friend
Don't get Wii Play. It is a throwaway collection of mini-games. Use the 10$ on the VC instead... If you ever need to buy Wii Play get it cheap on ebay.
It's worth it, but don't expect Wii Play to be any good. I reluctantly bought Wii Play simply for the controller.
I don't think it is worth it. I find Wii Play very bad. I would spend those $10 in a better thing.
I got Big Brain Academy which had a limited time offer of including a Wiimote for the same price as Wii Play + Wiimote (here in Australia).
I would say buy the remote and put ten bucks on the nunchuk wii play is bad
I would have to say dont buy it because you will have it sitting there 4 months not playin it it is a waste of money just go and buy the wiimote alone
One reason to buy this game. COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW RAAAAAAAAAAAAAACIIIINGGG!
If you have a casual gamer in the house they will like it... my wife likes the shooting game, the find the mii game, the fishing game, and the cow racing game...Even if you dont I still recommend getting it because Tanks to quite a bit of fun and that alone can justify the $10. Plus if you ever take the wii to a family gathering and you want to give grandma and little timmy more of a selection of easy games to play than just wii sports, this is a perfect game for such a situation.
I think I might get it, because I could just let my nephew and neices give it a shot, I know it'll keep them entertain. I'll shop around though for deals.
I found Wiiplay to be entertaining for an hour, so if an hour of fun is worth $10 go for it, otherwise just go for the remote imo.

T-wireless controller
I saw a review for this right here and it looks pretty neat, especially for brawl since you can map buttons so I MIGHT be able to move with the pad which would be better and more precise, but I don't like the wiimote setup. Anyone tried this controller yet, and tried it with brawl? If yes, where can I find it? T-wireless controller
cool, I saw one at EB gamesT-wireless controller
yea it looks like a pretty good controller. i have a gamecube controller that i use but it always felt small 2 me and the wii mote isnt any good in brawl(my personal preferance). im thinking about picking this controller up myself just for brawl.skin care

You DONATE it.If you want the most money you donate it, if you want less money then you have other options
You DONATE it.If you want the most money you donate it, if you want less money then you have other options
what do you mean?
I think you should trade your current brain for a new one and rethink the situation you are in.
please explain to me my situation, you seem to have it all figured out.

You DONATE it.If you want the most money you donate it, if you want less money then you have other options
what do you mean?
Donate it to a hospital, you get full used value and you take it off your taxes
how woudl the hospital thing even work?
how woudl the hospital thing even work?
I just explained itYou donate it to a hospital, they give you the paperwork that says you donated it, you hand that paperwork in with your taxes and have it deducted. That money is much more then you'd get anywhere else.
I bet you can get more for it on ebay then at gamestop...
Well if the donation thing doesn't work (maybe your local hospital doesn't want a Wii), just do like DrewBlood08 said: you can get much more money selling all your Wii items on eBay. I mean, just selling the system alone could probably net you at least $400; probably more since it's such a wanted console in short supply and Brawl just came out today.

When you 'write off' something on your taxes, you get to take that amount out of what they count as taxable income. In other words, your tax debt is reduced by the amount you would have paid taxes on - on that thing. For example, let's say you deduct your wii. Fine. $250. Which by the way you wouldn't get the full deduction for a used wii - but anyway - let's just say... Ok, you deduct the $250. Now, that $250 gets taken off the total taxable income you have. So, let's just say for round numbers, you made $100,250 in taxable income. When you take off the $250, now you only have 100,00 in taxable income. You don't get the $250 back, you get the amount of taxes you would have paid on that $250. In our case, probably something like $90. And actually, at your lower tax rate, even less.In fact, if you're fairly young, you probably don't make much money and you get all your taxes back anyway. deductions wouldn't help you anyway.

Do you have any idea how much Wii's go for during Christmas? I saw one get up to like $1200 on ebay and that was just a console. If you want to sell it now go ahead though, but you'd probably get more over Christmas.
I`m guessing anywhere between 150 to 200 dollars
eBay!!!!!! or Craigslist...

You should sell it on eBay. You'd get a ton more money than at Gamestop.
