hey everyone, first posti have a japanese wii that my father from china sent me. it seems to be modded and such.today i picked up a copy of SS Brawl and was disappointed that the disc could not be read.i've done some research on regional problems, but if my Wii was modded would it make a difference?i'm trying to get into ''Wii Settings'' to configure my Wii, but everytime i try, it gives me a white screen saying its not able to access the address marc:JP/JP/JPN/index01.html'' for opera and it gives me two options that are unclickable-open the Opera Help.-go to Opera's on-line support desk.i know some reactions to this is to simply buy an U.S. Wii, but just wondering if any of you can save me from that hassle.i appreciate for anyone reading and helping out.Playing SuperSmash Brawl (english ver.) ...

wouldnt it be awesome if they made a good transformers game for the wii. not some crappy movie one but a g1 transformer game. they could bring back almost all of the g1 characters and you could play as whoever you and do different missions and things. is anybody else craving a good transformers game besides me.tranformers g1 on wii?

I bought a Gamecube controller with Brawl, and I don't exactly know where i'm supposed to put the controller port. It doesn't go into the Wii Remote's slot, and I can't spot the place on the back of the Wii to place it. Can anyone help me out here?Gamecube controller + Wii = ?

yeah i had the same problem earlier this week when i bought a game cube pad, eventually gave in and read the instructions was going to take the pad back. might of well as done as the vc games i downloaded dont suit the pad at all seeing as the buttons are different locations on the pad on game cube. so you might need to get a classic controller. much better for the games i was going to use it on and i can use it wireless by plugging it into the remote

I cannot connect to the internet on my Wii. I am using a Netgear DG834PN. It can find the connection but can't actually connect. I get error code 51300. My 360, PS3 and all my computers work fine. My DS (which I assume uses the same service as the Wii) also works so why will my Wii not connect. Much help needed. Thank you.Much help needed

Maybe the type of connection that your wireless internet is, does not work for the Wii. I had a problem like that. I put the internet configuration to type WPA, in both my wireless internet and Wii, and it finally worked.

I have a bunch of wii games and even SMG doesnt look very good on my Bravia. I was wondering if Brawl actually runs in HD so it will look better than all of my other games. All of my other game look all pixely and blurry and YES I have the right cables. thxDoes Brawl actually run in 480p?

PSO/PSU = Phantasy Star Online/Phantasy Star UniverseI think the Wii would benefit from both of those games.
It would be nice, but this is one of the many reasons why I have a PC.

You can very easily cycle through ''pages'' containing sets of 3-4 actions/techs... A keyboard attachment would make this even easier, IMHO :)

Congrats:wink: The highest I've gotten is a 248 with seven straight strikes. for people with it hooking, i had the same problem. What i did was turn my weakness into my strength. Intentional put a large amount spin on the ball so that the hook is irrelivent. Before i did this my highest was like a 130.

The idea may seem neat but overall its not a fun game.. plus if you're looking for a party game there are so many better opttions on the Wii.. but either way party game of not I'll honestly give it around a 5.0 personally.

A loud noise? Mine only has done that once and thats when it locked up on GH3. Its probably not good, call Nintendo.
Mine's been totally quiet, so I would agree with my peers about contacting Nintendo.
It makes a noise some times, but if yours is too loud, then it might be a problem with it, so better call Nintendo.

I wouldnt call Nintendo. mine makes a click and a faint beep when I start it up and then in game when its loading mainly in NMH its makes some clicks but nothing worth losing your save files over.
I think I know what you're talking about its probably like a screeching or turning of the disc noise you hear while u wait for the loading time? You guys will probably notice while waiting and playing Brawl hehe.. anyway yeah I could hear it on my friend's Wii and I've seen some Brawl videos online where their Wii has made a similar noise so I assume its normal and other people just don't notice it or theres a faulty batch of Wiis out there.
yup. if there no disc in the system when u turn it on then ti spins the recieving motor just to make sure. if u put a disc in or eject it then those motors also fire. theres alsoa couple of clicking noises as the wii gets the read head in position and then theres the noise from the disc drive itself when its going at full speed....all normal.as long as the game is behaving properly and the disc come in and out normally then ure wii si fine. wii is not a silent system.

Rainbow Road on Mario Kart 64 wasn't hard... Just long.
Rainbow road on the SNES was the best, I can remeber playing on 150cc and loosing the cup time after time on this track.I eventually made it in 1st place and it was one of the best feelings I've playing video games.CheersGareth
I thought Rainbow Road on the SNES was the best but the others have been poor. It is supposed to be a very testing track the N64 curcuit was the worst in my opinon.

Rechargeable batteries are good, charge stations are inferior and regular batteries? Well you're just crazy if you use them lol. Just make sure they're 2500 or higher2gig SD card to back up game saves at the very least and movies, pics, and music if you wantNo cooler, they're useless and do not help anything. The stories you hear about the Wii overheating is from a heatsink not placed correctly on the board. No matter how much air you have going through there you can't prevent it.

You don't need to use the next-gen stuff just because its next-gen, that doesn't always mean it's the better control scheme. If you have a High-def TV, component cables are a must, because even though the Wii doesn't support High-def, it does support 480p (60 frames per second), which is a lot better than 480i (30 frames per second).
Yeah, some Wiis have a defective heatsink (they weren't placed properly), so they overheat and the graphics start glitching. But only a few of them have bad heatsink, probably like 5% or less.

Greatest game of all time.
The case sure looked interesting. And so did the disc. Sadly, I won't be able to give a real analysis until Nintendo returns it to me in a week.
Game is great. The online is cool, you get into a match pretty fast and just go at it. This game is gonna be played for a long time by everyone who picks it up.

Hellow...The timeline of zelda has being argued until almost fans are breathless... I have watch the clip that is one youtube, that from my point of view makes a lot of sense..But when that was made Zelda TP and Zelda PH were yet to be release...Zelda PH, can still stay where they put it...But what about TP?? My opinion is that it doesn't matter what the time line is. You can play each game and still get the basic idea of what is going on so an overall storyline isn't essential. Honestly, I stopped trying to figure out the Zelda timeline. All I know is that everyone is supposed to be reincarnations. It would be cool if in the next Zelda game they finally came out and told the official, complete, canon storyline.
Zelda: TP would fit in the hyrule B part. Ganon is destroyed and trying to gain full power via the Triforce of Power. Ganon Uses Zant to use twilight powers to bring him back till full power. ONce Zant finished with that Ganon returns to take control over hyrule via the Triforce of power. Farm Link defeats Ganon once again but its unclear what happens to him, although Zant is the one who gives the final blow, and maybe traps him in Twilight and when WW and PH takes place No hero was ever chosen to defeat Ganon and thus begins the story of Hyrule B. At least that is what i believe to be true, or maybe they they just screw with our head and made serval diffrent worlds of hyrule and none of them fit with each other except for true sequils like Mahors and PH and Zelda II
Ok now... to explain some things:The Legend of Zelda refers to an old Japanese tale or something. Including hero, princess and evil sorcerer.As every ''Legend of Zelda'' follows the same pattern it is obvious that there is NO timeline or whatsoever at all. Each game of the series is a stand alone story but in a different setting.And to be honest, I don't want a story- / timeline either.

So I go to Wal-Mart to pick up Brawl (obviously) when I stumbled on some of that Wii shovelware everyone was talking about. There was this so-called deal... a copy of Counter Force and Monster Trux Arenas for $30. Shes still pretty easy to handle like how she was in melee compared to the rest.. tho yeah shes not as good..

I first used Ike love slow characters.. but I've fell in love with Wario and I know many people have too hes just too great.

The game data saves to the Wii's internal storage. You can save replays to an SD card if you choose, but it is not a necessity.

my wii is connected to the internet wirelessly. But i can't seem to find anyone to play with online. I know there is a friend code exchange but how to i get the online mode to work? I just see the ''seeking'' message in the player slots.can't play brawl online
Same thing keeps on happening to me. I don't know what to do, but spectator mode works just fine.can't play brawl online
yeah i can spectate too. I just want to be able to play online without entering friend codes. It can get tedious manually entering those codes.
It's probably because it is only day 1, not many people may have it, or the servers may be having trouble. Liek what happened with Strikers Charged.

I am not a new owner, just a returning one. I was curious about Brawl so i went to Best Buy at noon to check out the crowds. I was looking at the rack and asked the sales guy if they had any Wii's, and they said YES. So, i bought another Wii just for the heck of it, giving it another try. i brought my wii over so we had 2 wiis here and we picked up brawl at midnight. we spent about 8hrs straight playing thro subscpace emisary and then at the end tried transfering the data over to an SD then onto mine since we both did it. it said we canot copy this file. Any other file that we try will allow us to copy except for brawl. Any solutions? please?huge issue my friend and i had with braw ...
some files do this, my driver paralel lines file does this, also you must save a new save on a new wii, i tried transfering files to the wii it gave me an error messsage saying if you want to load this save use the nintendo wii with the save file,, something along those lines , , i have 2 wiis i cant save the same data on the other one for this very reasonhuge issue my friend and i had with braw ...
Some data files cannot be copied. I remember F-Zero GX for the gamecube did this. You either have to start all over again, or play on that file.
They announced on one of the websites in the review that you couldn't transfer data. So yeah, guess sharing is out of the question.

Serious Brawl Problem

In order to unlock toon link, you need to beat beat clasic mode with link on any difficulty. But I did it with all of them and for some reason i can't unlock toon link. Also I beat Event Matches 1-20 and i didn't unlock the rest of them. Is this a glitch with my game or am I doing something wrong. Thx for ur help!Serious Brawl Problem

i have been getting the same error thing and i have a wirless router. I've played the solo part which was fun but so far i'm not impressed with the game.

And yes, I am. I got into a couple laggy matches earlier today. And I just played a couple more pretty smooth matches before I started getting booted left and right.
I don't have Brawl so this is just a wild guess: Try putting your Wii in your router's DMZ. Uh, that sounds nasty, doesn't it? :)If this solves the problem, to make the solution permanent you need to assign a fixed IP address to your Wii (one which isn't in the range assigned by your router's DHCP server) and configure that IP address to be the DMZ.

I bought the game and found out I suck at it. Well I already sucked at melee I don't know why I wouldn't suck at brawl. But since I actually have to game I get to practice as much as I want. I'm just trying to unlock all the characters and Stages right now.
the online play has let me down in terms of waiting for random matches, but then again its launch day, and not everyone who wants it gets it. ill give it at least a month to have my final decision on the online. other than that, the game has really been a blast. the few online matches i did have were generally great and exciting,

I was at target today, and they didn't have brawl. If they did, I might have bought it, but I'm not sure. Something is seriously wrong with me if I'm a big video game fan, and don't even know if I want to buy this. I watched some videos of it online, and it looks like a lot of senseless, ''beat the heck out of your opponent and knock him of the stage.'' Not saying it isn't great, just trying to figure out why I'm not as excited as everyone else is. Also, I almost always play alone. A lot of people love super smash brothers for it's multi-player, how good is it in single player?Trying to justify buying brawl

The bigger issue we need to know first is...Are we getting the full 360/PS3 experience or the dumbed down PS2 experience?
The thing I like about rock band is the whole co-op play with each person being able to play a different thing. Plus I've always wanted to play drums since I was a kid, but never persued it, so this kinda half-ass fills that fantasy, lol. I go to my friend's house once a week to play drums on his RB for PS3 and it's great fun. I'm very much looking forward to having it for the Wii, even if there is no DLC. What Jazunn brings up is a good point, though... are we getting a PS2 port that is dumbed down compared to the rest? I'm not even familiar with the differneces, actually. Guess I'll go look it up.

Gimme anything from Justice or Lightning (my two personal favorite albums)?? Such as the three downloadable songs now available...and I'm in. I will not buy it if there is no dlc.

I have alot of Rock Band experience (playing on my friends PS2), and I love the game. But, just like Guitar Hero III, this game would get old FAST, and not be worth half as much without dlc.

I already made the mistake of getting the wii version of gh III, I wouldn't make the same mistake with an even more expensive game like Rock Band.

DLC is essential in order for me to justify spending $170. It keeps things fresh and interesting, and allows you to cater more to your specific tastes.

The online doesnt work at all. It's still the best game i've ever played but I can't help being a little upset. I played 2 really LAGGY games last night and today it hasn't worked at all. And why on earth is 2 minutes the default for time limit it should've at least been 3 stocks. Who plays with time??? Why can you choose items, stages, and any character you want but not adjust the time/stocks. It's called growing pains. It happens to every popular game with online play. Halo 3, Gears of War, Warhawk: you name it, its online sucked day 1.Give it a week or two and everything will smooth out.
I haven't been able to connect to a game yet and I've been trying off and on since 11:15am. But yeah, I imagine within a few days it'll be handled.

Every review I've read says that the online feature is almost flawless. Maybe you have problems with your broadband conection.

I think you just need to give people a chance to play before they go online. Plus with the friend codes, more people are playing the people they know and not strangers. Give it some time and the online part will start jumping. Good luck.

..because my disc will not play. I get a disc error. The Wii tells me to check my Wii manual for trouble shooting and the manual tells you nothing really. Any ideas or do I have to drive my sorry self back to Walmart? I have to watch a baseketball game (Go UNCW beat Mason) and i think the electronics department might be closed when the game ends. The remote sideways is pretty good to me. The gamecube controller feels a little slower in comparison. Anyone else get that feeling? and how is the Classic controller, I don't have one so just wondering.

I'm actually cautious (sp?) about Mario Kart. From what I've seen it just doesnt seem as high quality as the rest of the titles. Rock Band I'll be getting for Wii or 360 whenever they make a bundle with just the drums.

Look at these pictures from DK Country 1 and 2. DKC is running on my SNES hooked into standard composite inputs. DKC2 is running off of my Wii's virtual console which is hooked into component inputs on the same TV. Why are the gradients between colors so much worse on the Wii than on the SNES? Do component cables make that big a difference in sharpness that they bring out the worst in old games? Notice how the ground and the characters, in particular, look natural and the gradients are smooth. Here's a closer view of the snakes:Notice the smooth transitions on the snakes? Now here is what DKC2 looks like on the Wii's VC: Notice the gradients on the boards of the crate below Dixie Kong. You can really tell the seperation of color on the VC, where-as on the SNES, they are smoothly transitioned. As a test, I might try to hook up my Wii with the composite cables that came with it and see if the problem persists. Are there any filtering modes that you can change? I know I'm asking too much probably, but I guess I'm just kind of annoyed that my old SNES looks better than the Wii's emulation of old games. It doesn't ruin the game experience, but I'd like for it to look a little better than it does. Any comments or thoughts? Every video I've seen on the 'net looks like the old SNES pictures. Yeah, I've come to the same conclusion. Oh well, no biggie, I was just curious and thought that perhaps their SNES emulation was borked. Ah well, I guess I can always turn down the sharpness on my TV to reproduce the blur of old. :D

Yes, mine is less than a month old and it has frozen about three times. Each time it happened it was while returning from a game to the main menu. To force it off I pressed and held the power button until the power light turned red. Then I turned it back on and it worked fine.wii froze question
me too, during brawl today for the first time since release day
mine's frozen maybe times in the 1.4 years time i've had it, mainly due to issues with transitions to the shop channel. it's also ceased function completely before, but that was result of a power outage-perhaps a safety mechanism
My Wii froze twice when I was playing Wii Sports, but only during the first couple of months. I took it in for repairs for a completely unrelated problem (Heatsink overheated), and while they fixed THAT problem, they may have fixing the freezing problem too; maybe the heatsink was causing the freezing...I don't know. All I know for sure is that I've never had a freezing problem again!
Mine hasn't frozen while playing a game. But it froze a lot with the Wii Browser demo thing.
Mine has never frozen. Afterall, I did only get it today.Besides, people say it's frozen but when the system only is loading.

hit start and look at the map.Go to the little dots that aren't connnected somehwere and just standing y themselves. These are either bosses or will transport yu to a new area.
I have gone to all of them, multiple times:) I've gotten past the bowser places and have gone through the whole map about 5 times and can't find the last secret passage or maybe its not secret but I can't seem to find it..... I'm probably just stupid but I seriously can't find it......

You have to buy an adapter if you can't hook it up wirelessly. Sorta sucks, but the Wii doesn't let you just hook it up to your modem.EDIT: The official name for it is the Wii LAN Adapter, and you can find it for around $25-$30 online. Just plug it in to one of the two USB ports on the back of your Wii and then plug in your ethernet cable to that.

.....the Brawl machanic. (semi SPOILER Alert) If you own Brawl and played the pokemon event where two pokemon trainers go at each other. How do you feel if the next pokemon game played like that. All in real time and not turn based. The four moves are mapped to the joystiq and there are till dodge/evade/block maneuvers still avalible. it says to unlock toon link it says to beat classic mode with link, or 400 vs. matches. I'm not doing 400 vs. matches! And I;ve beaten classic with link several times, but he won't show. Is there something I'm missing. Does it have to be a certain difficulty with a certain number of lives. Can you lose a life and still get him. What do I have to do? SSBB Toon Link trouble

Sorry, was never able to unlock him that way. I passed SSE first and went back to a stage where a new door opened and I fought him and unlocked hi that way.
Same here. I played through twice, once on easy, once on normal, each time unlocking characters that weren't Toon Link. I'm just going to do the SSE way.

So I've been reading reviews for Wii Play packaged with a Wiimote, and so far it seems like it's a mediocre game. But with just $10 bucks more, I get a Wiimote with it. Don't get Wii Play. It is a throwaway collection of mini-games. Use the 10$ on the VC instead... If you ever need to buy Wii Play get it cheap on ebay.

If you have a casual gamer in the house they will like it... my wife likes the shooting game, the find the mii game, the fishing game, and the cow racing game...Even if you dont I still recommend getting it because Tanks to quite a bit of fun and that alone can justify the $10. Plus if you ever take the wii to a family gathering and you want to give grandma and little timmy more of a selection of easy games to play than just wii sports, this is a perfect game for such a situation.
I think I might get it, because I could just let my nephew and neices give it a shot, I know it'll keep them entertain. I'll shop around though for deals.
I found Wiiplay to be entertaining for an hour, so if an hour of fun is worth $10 go for it, otherwise just go for the remote imo.

I saw a review for this right here and it looks pretty neat, especially for brawl since you can map buttons so I MIGHT be able to move with the pad which would be better and more precise, but I don't like the wiimote setup. When you 'write off' something on your taxes, you get to take that amount out of what they count as taxable income. Moving Wii Channels?

I was just wondering if there was any way to move individual wii channels do a different spot. I know this may seem weird but I downloaded a VC game before I downloaded the internet channel. Now the internet channel is all by its lonesome in the middle of all of my VC games. If there is not a way to move individual channels can I put all of my VC games that are in front of my internet channel on an SD card then move them right back to my wii so they are on the other side without any problems? What I would have done (it's too late now) is called around to stores asking ''Are you going to have Wiis tomorrow?'' and if they say yes ask them how many. Then I would have got it in line long before the store opened, then I would have got a Wii, got Brawl, and went home happy. There's always next week...

some of my friends that i have added are unable to join my game? and when i try to join their game that they host I cant connect. But other friends can join but certain others cant...? do i have to forward my ports to join a friends game?...I can host?...but...

I can see you just made an account to figure this out, so I wont give you any trouble. Basically the Brawl online component is still very laggy and it can almost be impossible to join random games or even join games with your friends. Just make sure that you both have eachothers friend code registered (the Brawl friend code is different than your ordinary Wii code). Try opening a game and let your friend open a game. If you can't get together wait like half an hour or something. Even still it is pretty laggy and delayed by about 1/2 a second which can really affect the way you play.

OK heres the deal ..the internet for the wii worked fine for going to the Wii store the news channel etc..but when i got my Super Smash Bros Brawl today .. i updated it and played it soo i decided to take the action online ..it said my internet connection was wrong or something, so i tired to make a new connection and it gave me a error code at the end??? wats up with that lol??so my question is did the game Super smash bros brawl do this???? if it did we need a new UPDATE NOW LOLOMG Wii problem because of SSBB??? PLZZ ...

i have been having difficulty connecting my wii remotes to my wii. i can get one controller connected but the other three wont work. they worked before but this time they wont. i dont think it's the battery. when i press a button the 4 blue lights at the bottom blink but nothing happens after that. any help would be greatly appreciated. can anyone help me with this problem?i need help connecting my wii remote to ...
Well the usualy way to connect other controlers to the Wii is to open the lid next to where you insert CD's to expose this little red button. Then you take the Wiimote, open the battery case and locate the small red button. Press it then press the red button on the Wii console and it should synchronize the Wiimote to the Wii.

why is the online so slow. i can never get into a game.Super Smash Bros Brawl help.
Right now the Brawl servers are really messed up because of so many people trying to connect and play the game. I know it can be almost impossible to find someone to play with, even though a lot of people are searching.Super Smash Bros Brawl help.

86420 usally put some times I also get ''You have been disconnected from other players'' and another one which was another error code
I can't play either. Been getting error messages all evening. Whatever though, it's obviously because it's the first day and there are so many people on right now. It'll be over in 2 days, tops.
I'm sure it's all just bugs they need to work out.
